The Wolfman Cometh
Imagine you have a dream. In this dream, you are walking through the forest with a being, an entity, perhaps a demon or a deity, it’s unclear which. The entity has the body of a man with five arms, three on the left side and two on the right, and the head of a wolf. The left eye is white and the right eye is black. It wears only a loincloth. You converse with the wolf-man as you walk, not in words, but in images, intuitions, emotions, experiences. He shows you the entire story of man and the canines, or maybe it is better to say that you live the story – you are the wolf scavenging from a pile of waste outside the settlement, you are the human alerted to a danger lurking in the night by the wolf’s growl, you are the first man to pet the wolf and feed it directly from your hand, you are the wolf-becoming-dog and the man wordlessly stalking prey. You have the most profound awareness of the bond between man and canine - the totality of this bond washes over you, melting and consuming you, and it seems that this is the only thing that matters, the only thing that has ever mattered. The wolf-man now has glowing red eyes, and you see that he is a superposition of every canine that has ever lived.
You reach a small clearing in the forest. The god-dog walks to the center of it and then turns around and faces you. The sun seems to shine directly on him and him only. Everything fades to black. The god-dog then speaks, “You will be the first to ascend. You will find the way out of the darkness. You will lead the way for all to follow.” The wolf-demon raises his five arms and the totality of reality and possibility explodes into view. You become infinite metamorphosis. You are the wolf-demon-god-dog, but he is not you and this is logically necessary. You are surrounded by every being that has ever existed and will ever exist and they all have glowing red eyes. In unison, we speak, “We have selected you to initiate the metamorphosis. There will be no warning that it is coming and no sign that it has happened. It will start with an idea. There is nothing you can do to avoid it or manifest it.” The nine billion names of God are sung out for eternity, then you wake up.
Would you believe the dream or would you explain it away?
“Just random brain activity”…
Would you believe that you truly were the chosen one? Could you?
Would you believe me if I said I believed the dream?
